Why Choose NewYork-Presbyterian
Why should you choose NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital for your gynecologic care?
Comprehensive, personalized care:
Whether you come to us for your annual gynecologic visit or are referred by your doctor for a specific procedure, we offer you advanced gynecologic care based on the latest medical findings. We are a teaching hospital, meaning we are up-to-date on the most sophisticated methods for diagnosing and treating disorders of the cervix, vagina, vulva, uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes as well as urologic disorders. And because we are part of a world-renowned academic medical center, we can meet all of your other healthcare needs as well, such as treating heart disease, diabetes, and endocrine problems.
An experienced team:
All of our gynecologists are board-certified and hold academic appointments at Weill Cornell Medical College or Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. In addition, our physicians have additional subspecialty training in treating conditions of the reproductive organs
Minimally invasive surgery:
In most cases, we are able to take a minimally invasive approach to gynecologic surgery, using laparoscopy and robotic surgery as indicated. Such approaches are associated with reduced blood loss, a shorter hospital stay, smaller incisions, less postoperative pain, and a speedier recovery and return to your normal activities. We use a minimally invasive approach to treating endometriosis and can treat uterine prolapse through the vagina, with no abdominal incisions. We can also treat some fibroids using a minimally invasive approach or through ablation, depending on their size. Some patients with fibroids, pelvic pain, or endometriosis benefit from single-port surgery, in which the surgeon can perform the entire operation through one incision.
