Women At Risk
Program Aims
The Women At Risk High-Risk Program aims to provide patient support and services while contributing to the research community through the patient database. The HICCC breast cancer research database allows medical professionals to analyze data about the high-risk population and conduct research studies.
The aims of the High-Risk Program are to:
- Identify and evaluate women at high risk for breast cancer.
- Educate women in the program regarding self-examination, awareness of risk factors, and risk reduction strategies.
- Provide emotional and psychosocial support to women who are living with a high risk of breast cancer.
- Provide information and support to high-risk women so they are better able to manage their breast cancer risk.
- Contribute to the research on breast cancer prevention and risk reduction, by enrolling patients in the HICCC patient database and using the information for studies that advance the field of breast cancer research.
