The NewYork-Presbyterian/Westchester campus is located in White Plains, New York – about 25 miles north of New York City.

NewYork-Presbyterian/Westchester Division is staffed by clinicians from the Department of Psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, one of the largest, most prestigious departments in the country, with a long, distinguished history of providing outstanding leadership in patient and family care, training, and research related to all areas of psychiatric disorders.

History of NYP's Westchester campus

The Department is ranked among the best psychiatry services in the nation by U.S. News and World Report in its annual Best Hospitals survey. In addition, its clinicians also hold faculty positions at the Ivy League Weill Cornell Medical College.

The Westchester Division was established in 1894 and is the second oldest freestanding psychiatric hospital in the country.

The Division has inpatient and outpatient units, a partial hospital, and day treatment programs which provide a full continuum of care to patients of all ages and cultures.

Specialty Inpatient Programs

The Division is also home to several specialty inpatient programs: The Haven, which provides therapy for adults in an environment with deluxe amenities; The Outlook, which provides care for patients with eating disorders; and The Horizon, which provides care sensitive to the needs of Orthodox Jewish patients.

Lastly, the Westchester Division is the first behavioral health facility and one of only 16 hospitals worldwide to be recognized as a "Planetree Designated Patient-Centered Hospital." Planetree is an international, nonprofit organization that promotes the development and implementation of innovative, patient-centered models of care delivery.
