NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia

The HIV virus, as well as some medications used to treat it, can cause physical symptoms and conditions that may also affect mental health. The challenges of HIV infection can be amplified when combined with substance use or other mental health problems. NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia offers inpatient and outpatient mental health care to HIV-infected individuals whose illness is adversely affecting their mental health.

NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia also features a dedicated HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies, which conducts research and provides training opportunities related to HIV and mental health, especially at the community level.
