Brain Aneurysm Research at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital
Brain aneurysm patients treated at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital have access to the latest diagnostic and treatment approaches, along with those that are in development.
Researchers at both of our affiliated medical centers – NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia – are leading the search for new ways to treat aneurysms.
NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia Brain Aneurysm Research The NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center's brain aneurysm research studies currently include:
- Identifying genes that may increase the risk of aneurysms.
- Identifying environmental factors (e.g., cigarette smoking, high blood pressure) that affect the expression of these genes.
NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Brain Aneurysm Research NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center cerebral aneurysm studies are directed toward:
- Improving the effectiveness of endovascular coils.
- Comparing the effectiveness of different imaging techniques to detect aneurysms.
- Finding new materials to block blood flow into complex aneurysms.
