Corporate Care Health Services
The Corporate Care System was developed to meet the growing healthcare demands of the corporate community. Serving Manhattan-based corporations, the programs provide employees with physician referral, emergency medical transportation, CPR/AED and First Aid Training. Education and wellness programs include seminars, screenings and physician examination programs. Staff members are available during normal business hours to schedule routine outpatient appointments and to answer health related questions.
Physician Referral Program
The Corporate Care Physician Referral Program helps with non-emergent medical problems and routine medical care. During normal business hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, except holidays) a physician referral coordinator is available to schedule appointments with an appropriate physician. The physician referral coordinator assesses the employee's medical needs and recommends a physician or healthcare professional that participates in the employee's Health Insurance program. An appointment can be arranged and information regarding office location is provided. Annual and/or pre-employment physicals including all necessary testing are coordinated through the Corporate Care Office.
The Emergency Response System
The Emergency Response System, a dispatched service and in addition to calling 911, is available to all Corporate Care member employees and their families in New York City 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All calls are handles by professionally trained NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital staff who make the medical assessment to dispatch a NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital ambulance or alternate and make the determination to send the patient to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital or to the nearest hospital. In the event that an employee is taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Emergency Room during normal business hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday) it is suggested that the company alert the Corporate Care Office to the arrival of the employees to the Emergency Room. The Corporate Care staff will keep the company informed of the employee's status.
Training and Wellness in the Workplace
To heighten awareness of preventive health measures and to promote safety at the workplace, the Corporate Care System offers a variety of training and wellness programs at the worksite. Emergency preparedness, training and planning in CPR/AED, 1st Aid, Oxygen Administration and Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP) are available. Lunch Time Lectures on the following topics: nutrition, ergonomics, stress reduction, carpal tunnel syndrome, eldercare, balancing family and career, skincare and allergies, hayfever and more are also available.
Healthcare Screenings
Screening for blood pressure, cholesterol, skin cancer and Body Mass Index (BMI) as well as others can be provided. Onsite flu shot programs and health fairs can also be scheduled through Corporate Care.
Members can call 212-472-5412 for physician referral assistance and any other health related questions.
