Cardiology

Congenital Heart Disease

Congenital Heart Disease refers to cardiac problems that people are born with. The patients may be children or they may be adults with conditions that were previously undiagnosed or require revisions of previous surgery.

Both NewYork-Presbyterian's adult and pediatric heart surgery programs are ranked among the top programs in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. Our surgeons routinely treat some of the most complex cases, many referred from other institutions.

These physicians specialize in the treatment of all forms of adult congenital heart disease. The members of the team include cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and experts in interventional cardiac catheterization.

Pediatric Patients

Pediatric patients are cared for by physicians and surgeons at the Congenital Heart Center of NewYork-Presbyterian. The Center is a joint program between NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital and NewYork-Presbyterian/Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Children's Health.

Each year, the Center's surgeons perform more than 700 cardiac operations, including some 175 heart repairs in newborn infants.
