Lung Cancer Prevention
About Lung Cancer
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in men and women. Smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer. The number of cigarettes smoked and the years one smokes affect risk. We know that to stop smoking (or to have never started) is the most effective way to prevent lung cancer.
Lung Cancer Prevention at NewYork-Presbyterian
NewYork-Presbyterian's lung cancer prevention focuses on smoking cessation: helping people quit smoking and thereby lower their risk of developing lung cancer. Information about the dangers of smoking and how to stop can be found on our smoking cessation page.
