4. Milestones Program

Individuals diagnosed with ASD and other developmental disabilities undergo tremendous changes as they grow older and confront novel circumstances. Additionally, new skill sets are required in order to adapt to changes in the environment. Consequently, the needs, skills, diagnostic profiles and responses to treatment of these individuals may need to change. Because of this, we believe it is important to provide services that match the changing needs of our clients. To accomplish this, CADB offers a range of services that address the needs of individuals as they develop.

What goals are addressed?
  • parent groups designed to help parents with issues associated with different milestones
  • social groups for children, adolescents and young adults
  • re-evaluations as children encounter new developmental milestones
  • new treatment plans are developed when appropriate
  • collaboration with families and other providers to ensure integrated service delivery
What does the program look like?

Children and families come to the center to participate in an abbreviated evaluation process to identify changes in functioning. When appropriate families initiate a variety of individual and/or group therapies focused on addressing the identified areas in need as well as helping the individual and family prepare for future changes.
