Dr. Yurt is Chief of Burns, Critical Care and Trauma at the New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Director of the William Randolph Hearst Burn Center. He is the Johnson and Johnson Distinguished Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Attending Surgeon at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Yurt is a well-published researcher, a dedicated teacher and a world renowned, board-certified expert in the treatment of burns and wound healing. He is recognized for his devotion to the improvement in the quality of life of burn victims and for his pioneering research in trauma, burns and technology related to the treatment of burns. Palmer Q. Bessey, M.D.

Dr. Bessey is Associate Director of the William Randolph Hearst Burn Center and Attending Surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. His career has been dedicated to the care of people with serious injuries from trauma and burns, striving not only to keep them alive, but to preserve their quality of life. He was born in Glen Ridge, NJ, and received his medical degree from the University Of Vermont.In addition to burn care, Dr. Bessey also specializes in nutrition. James J. Gallagher, M.D.
James J. Gallagher, M.D.

Dr. Gallagher is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Assistant Attending Surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. A board-certified surgeon, Dr. Gallagher has extensive experience in the treatment of burns, surgical critical care, and international surgery. His areas of special interest include surgical education, international surgical outreach, the burned hand, burn resuscitation, and surgical care of the burn wound. Dr. Gallagher received his B.S. Summa Cum Laude in Biochemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1988 and his M.D. from SUNY Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, New York in 1992. (view profile)
