Multidisciplinary Amyloidosis Program

Clinical Trials

NewYork-Presbyterian is heavily involved in research on amyloidosis. The Program's leader, Suzanne Lentzsch, M.D., Ph.D., is the principal investigator of a multicenter trial in the Amyloidosis Network which includes five leading centers in the United States. The researchers are studying the pathomechanism of systemic amyloidosis and ways to improve patient care. Preliminary results are very promising and enrollment is currently open. In addition, there are a number of other amyloidosis-related clinical trials currently being conducted by Program researchers. During the amyloidosis multidisciplinary meetings, specialists spend time discussing clinical trials and new ideas in research. Patients who are treated for amyloidosis at NewYork-Presbyterian may be able to take part in clinical trials of emerging therapies.
