Podiatry at The Allen Hospital

The Division of Podiatry is part of The Allen Hospital's Department of Orthopaedics. Podiatrists at The Allen Hospital provide expert care for conditions of the foot such as forefoot deformities, bunions, hammertoes, and various tendon and muscular causes of foot pain such as heel spurs and flatfeet. These conditions can often be treated often with orthotics and other non surgical methods.

If surgery is required, we offer the latest techniques for reconstruction of the feet and tendons, and bunion surgery. Most procedures involve local anesthesia with sedation. Patients usually are able to go home that day and are able to return to their daily routines soon afterwards.

We also work with the Wound Care Center in the Department of Surgery's Plastic Surgery practice to care for diabetic foot wounds. A diabetic foot wound most commonly occurs on the bottom of the foot in approximately 15 percent of patients with diabetes.

Podiatry patients are seen at The Allen Hospital or off-site clinics. All surgical procedures are performed at The Allen Hospital.
