Pharmacy Assistance Program

Overview

Ambulatory Care Network - Pharmacy Assistance Program (ACN-PAP) helps medically indigent patients obtain affordable prescription medications and other items required for treatment and the maintenance of life. Program effectiveness is evaluated by monitoring health status, cost savings, and treatment regimen compliance rate.

The Program is run by NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital's Ambulatory Care Network, and is part of a larger project known as Salud a Su Alcance (SASA).

ACN-PAP was launched in August 2002 with funding from Health Resource Services and Administration (HRSA) under the Community Access Program Initiative and is currently supported by funds from the New York Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Accomplishments
(September 2002 - October 2009)
  • Serving more than 2,406 patients.
  • Filled over 12,130 prescriptions.
  • Saved patients over $8,451,298.00 in drug costs.
  • Work with over 400 pharmaceutical companies.
  • Work with over 350 physicians.
  • Utilize a software system which streamlines the application process.
  • Seamless Integration with the 340B Program

Ambulatory Care Network-Pharmacy Assistance Program (ACN-PAP)serves the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn.
