Advanced Radiation Oncology Technologies
Back to the Radiation Oncology Home Page
The practice of radiation oncology has always been a discipline that relies on advanced technology to help deliver the most sophisticated treatments. The list on the right provides a sample of the major technologies that we use everyday to care for our patients. Please visit these pages to learn more.
Advanced technology by itself is important, however we always remember that there are highly trained professionals behind the equipment. We start by seeking individuals who are skilled in delivering complex care in a compassionate manner and who always put patients first. Each staff member is required to complete rigorous training programs and to participate in continuing education programs that assure we meet or exceed the industry's training standards. In some cases, we are the ones that train the professionals who then go to work in area hospitals.
NewYork-Presbyterian also collaborates with the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Weill Cornell Medical College, on research that has helped to develop the science behind some of today's treatment innovations. Together, we strive to advance our field and offer the most comprehensive treatment options.
