Continuing Education
Continuing education plays an extremely important role at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Not only physicians and surgeons but also nurses, social workers and other healthcare professionals must keep abreast of the latest developments in their respective fields.
Continuing Medical Education
Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities are provided to our medical and surgical staff and multidisciplinary audiences through Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Most Continuing Medical Education programs are clinical in nature but provide theoretical scientific background, often also including examinations of current ethical and public policy issues faced by today's practicing physicians.
Both academic medical centers are accredited by the Accreditations Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to authorize and issue CME credit for programs that are developed by either institution as part of their overall program of CME.
