Georgia J. Persky

Vice President Patient Care Services

As a nurse at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia, you will be privileged to practice in an organization that offers a wide range of clinical services to patients of all ages, from ambulatory and emergency to acute, critical and perioperative nursing care. Nursing remains the heart and soul of patient care at our facility — and central to our mission is caring and concern for our patients and their families. We also value our partnerships with physicians and other health care team members, fostering a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to patient care and supporting safe, comprehensive and patient-focused quality care.

We enjoy substantial growth and invest in our future; as programs and patient needs change, we change. For example, we are expanding our ICU and step-down capabilities in order to meet the needs of our patients and our community. Our ambulatory nursing staff thrives on diverse challenges and provides primary care with a family-centered approach to wellness. We also were the first facility to use wireless telemetry and the first medical center to offer LVAD and robotic cardiac surgery in New York. You can be sure that there will be many more innovations and breakthroughs to come. Ours is an environment in which you will be consistently challenged — and offered unlimited opportunities to learn and expand your capabilities.
