Concealed Laparoscopic Orchiopexy
is a corrective procedure for a non-palpable testis that occurs in 2.5% of newborn males in the United States. A laparoscope is inserted through a tiny umbilical opening to locate the non-palpable testis. If the testis is healthy, a second instrument is placed through a small opening in the scrotum to move the testicle into it's natural position. This technique avoids a more invasive, visible incision in the groin and most patients go home the same day.
