In addressing nutritional disorders and weight management in children and adolescents, the NewYork-Presbyterian Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Children’s Health brings together a multidisciplinary team of pediatric physicians and experts in the Divisions of Gastroenterology and Nutrition and General Pediatrics. Our physicians have initiated a task force for the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity, as well as pediatric obesity screening, and have developed a healthy lifestyles program, working with children, and their families, who are bordering on obesity to those who are significantly obese. Our team take their message of healthy living into communities throughout the five boroughs of New York, particularly those that are underserved. Often the team works in concert with community service organizations and school-based programs.
