The Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease specialists at the Komansky Center for Children’s Health have expertise in the following areas:
The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases provides the Center for Special Studies in Pediatric HIV Disease, one of the first comprehensive care centers for children and adolescents with AIDS funded by the National Institute on Child Health and Human Development to participate in multi-centered clinical trials.
The Center’s multidisciplinary Pediatric AIDS Program provides primary as well as specialized care to 10 percent of New York City’s pediatric/adolescent HIV/AIDS population. A case management team, which oversees each patient’s care, includes a primary provider, advanced practice nursing professionals, and social work services.
