The Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease specialists at the Komansky Center for Children’s Health have expertise in the following areas:

Center for Special Studies in Pediatric HIV Disease
The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases provides the Center for Special Studies in Pediatric HIV Disease, one of the first comprehensive care centers for children and adolescents with AIDS funded by the National Institute on Child Health and Human Development to participate in multi-centered clinical trials.
Our Team
The Center’s multidisciplinary Pediatric AIDS Program provides primary as well as specialized care to 10 percent of New York City’s pediatric/adolescent HIV/AIDS population. A case management team, which oversees each patient’s care, includes a primary provider, advanced practice nursing professionals, and social work services.
Services Provided
This child-centered and family-oriented center offers the following services:
- general pediatric and well-child care
- HIV counseling and testing for children, adolescents, and their families
- psychiatric and developmental services and referrals
- inpatient pediatric services
- patient management and palliative services and referrals
- health education
- caregiver support groups
Through the Betty and Norman F. Levy Family Center, children and adolescents with AIDS as well as their families who participate in the Pediatric AIDS Program have access to additional services that include:
- obstetrics and gynecology
- pediatric nutrition
- counseling
- dental services
