Welcome to the Pediatric Aerodigestive Center at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Children's Health/Weill Cornell Medical Center. In this subspecialty clinic, children with complex airway problems and upper gastrointestinal disorders are managed with the state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment techniques.
It is not unusual for children and their families to have seen multiple specialists at various points in time and be given different information about their medical condition. At our aerodigestive center, the multidisciplinary team comprised of pediatric pulmonologists, pediatric otolaryngologists, pediatric gastroenterologists, speech specialists and swallow specialists come together to evaluate children in an effective and time-efficient manner. Additionally, a conference is held to review the recommendations of the multidisciplinary team and to develop a care plan. This allows us to provide unified information tailored to each individual patient.
A dedicated aerodigestive center coordinator serves as the point person for all the subspecialists and helps coordinate clinic visits, diagnostic procedures and operating room visits. If your child needs other specialty referrals, the Komansky Center has a wide variety of pediatric specialists to take care of their needs including but not limited to surgery, allergy and immunology, genetics, cardiology and sleep physicians.
We look forward to serving you and your family and answering your questions.
