The Pediatric Aerodigestive Center at the NewYork-Presbyterian Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Children's Health provides diagnosis and treatment for children and adolescents with airway, breathing, and swallowing disorders. The multidisciplinary center is the only one of its kind in the New York area, bringing together pediatric specialists in Pediatric Pulmonology, Pediatric Gastroenterology, and Pediatric Otolaryngology (Ears, Nose and Throat), as well as and other subspecialties to manage the medical and surgical care of children with a variety of disorders involving the airway and digestive system.
We offer state-of-the-art diagnostic testing and treatment for children with:
We have expertise in the following diagnostic and interventional endoscopic procedures:
The center's pediatric otolaryngologists are pioneers in the areas of minimally invasive endoscopic airway surgery, as well as open laryngotracheal reconstruction.
Coordinated care is a major benefit of having a designated Pediatric Aerodigestive Center. Rather than having to schedule three different services on different days, our coordinator is able to schedule appointments or procedures that can all be completed on the same day. If a child needs an endoscopy and bronchoscopy, these procedures are coordinated so this can be done all at once with just one anesthesia. Your child's team of specialists looks at the findings together, talks about them, and establishes a plan that can be implemented right away.
Through the Komansky Center, the Pediatric Aerodigestive Center is affiliated with the NewYork-Presbyterian Center for Advanced Digestive Care.
