Dr. Mark Souweidane, director of pediatric neurological surgery at Weill Cornell, talks about his new clinical trial, and how funds raised can help support this important work:
At the Weill Cornell Pediatric Brain and Spine Center we have a mission to 'cure the incurable' and need your help.
As an example of what is possible, we recently began treating children in a new clinical trial . This trial is based upon more than a decade of research on an innovative procedure that holds promise against brain stem gliomas also known as DIPG, an incurable tumor that strikes young children. Given the rarity of this disease and the perceived futility in treatment, I struggled against a lack of funding at every step of the journey. Fortunately through generous individuals who shared in my vision, these children and their families now have renewed hope. Our new partnership with Miles for Hope will provide another much-needed source of research dollars to help keep the momentum going.
I do hope you'll join me and help me to reach my fundraising goal! Together we can provide much needed help to children and their families that face overwhelming odds from brain tumors. Join my team and register online!
Thanks so much for your support!
