recombinant human papillomavirus quadrivalent vaccine

A vaccine used to prevent anal, cervical, vulvar, and vaginal cancer caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) types 16 and 18 and genital warts caused by HPV types 6 and 11. It is also used to prevent lesions that are caused by these viruses and that can lead to anal, cervical, vulvar, or vaginal cancer. Recombinant human papillomavirus quadrivalent vaccine is used in males and females aged 9-26 years. Recombinant human papillomavirus quadrivalent vaccine is being studied in the treatment of other medical conditions. Also called Gardasil and quadrivalent human papillomavirus (types 6, 11, 16, and 18) recombinant vaccine.
