Joshua E. Hyman, MD, Receives Patients' Choice Award
New York (Sep 22, 2010)

Joshua E. Hyman, MD, Director of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Trauma Service, Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, was recently presented with an American Registry Patients' Choice Award. The award reflects the exceptionally high praise that Dr. Hyman received through online feedback from his patients.
Every month, more than 40,000 patients across the United States rate various components, including bedside manner and degree of follow-up, and give opinions regarding their doctor experiences. Over the course of 2009, these patient reviews totaled in the hundreds of thousands. Of those who receive rave reviews, only physicians with near perfect scores receive the Patients’ Choice Award. In 2009, only 6 percent of doctors have been voted by their patients to receive this honor.
Dr. Hyman, who is Associate Professor of Clinical Orthopedic Surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, specializes in pediatric orthopaedic surgery. His areas of clinical interest include hip disease and dysplasia, complex pediatric spinal disorders (scoliosis), limb lengthening and deformity, club foot and other foot deformities, cerebral palsy and neuromuscular disease, fractures, and sports injuries.
