Frank E. Stinchfield Lectures
The Frank E. Stinchfield Memorial Lecture
Chairman and Director of the New York Orthopaedic Hospital from 1956 to 1976, Dr. Frank E. Stinchfield guided NYOH into the future of orthopedic surgery. He reformed residency education, established a program in orthopedic research, introduced subspecialty clinics to improve patient care, and both led and inspired the development and implementation of innovative surgical technique. To honor and commemorate the forty-eight years of distinguished service and leadership given by this visionary surgeon, researcher, administrator and educator, the Alumni in 1993 voted to establish the Frank E. Stinchfield Memorial Lecture. Beginning in 1995, the lecture is to be given at each biennial meeting of the NYOH Alumni Association by a visiting professor prominent in the field of orthopedic surgery.
