For Prospective Residents
(Residency information for 2010 Applicants)

Applicants should use the ERAS Electronic Residency Application Service to submit:
  • Completed application form
  • Dean's Letter
  • 3 letters of recommendation
  • USMLE scores
  • One page personal statement
  • Medical School transcript (loaded on ERAS)
  • C.V. (loaded on ERAS)

All applications must be submitted through ERAS. Applications are available through your medical school or the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Hard copy applications will not be accepted. Applications should be submitted by November 2, 2009.

The Educational Commission must certify permanent immigrants and U.S. citizens who graduated from medical schools outside the United States and Canada for Foreign Medical Graduates. Information about certification and visa sponsorship is available from:

All applicants will be notified of their status via e-mail typically within 2-3 weeks of the Dean's Letter.  Selected candidates will be invited for personal interviews. A social gathering in New York City will be arranged for Saturday, January 9, 2010 so that you will have an opportunity to meet the residents. Interviews will be scheduled on Sunday, January 10, 2010. During the interview day, you will meet the chairman, program director, faculty physicians, and residents. Each applicant will have 2 15-minute interviews with a panel of 4 faculty members.

For those applicants interested in the 6-year Trauma Training Center (TTC) fellowship track, please inform the Program Director so that an additional interview with Dr. Melvin Rosenwasser will be coordinated.
