Trauma Training Center

The Trauma Training Center was founded in 1992 by Dr. Melvin P. Rosenwasser and Professor Robert J. Pawluk with the goal of excellence in graduate and post-graduate orthopedic trauma education and research. This goal has become manifest in a myriad of ways, including ongoing prospective clinical studies, biomechanical basic science research, development of specialized software applications, and hands-on resident courses.

The TTC is housed in the recently unveiled 19,000 square-foot facility of the Anne Youle Stein Center for Orthopedic Education and Research on Presbyterian Hospital's eleventh floor at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center.

The Trauma Training Center's new facilities encompass several state-of-the-art laboratories. The Bioskills Laboratory is being equipped with a wide range of internal and external fixation instruments and devices for resident and surgeon training, as well as AV satellite communications capabilities. The Core Computer Laboratory offers three dedicated computer workstations, X-ray scanners for high-quality digital imaging, laser printers, film recorders, and slide makers. The computer applications and research laboratories now being developed will also be devoted to the advancement of trauma care, training, and education.

Our vision for tomorrow is to apply what we have accomplished today - in orthopedic trauma education and research - and then to disseminate this knowledge to the global orthopedic community through national and international forums.
