The Steve Miller Medical Education Day, hosted by the Department of Pediatrics at Columbia University, will be held on Wednesday, October 20. The annual event spotlights excellence in medical education and the integration of the practice of humanism in medicine with a day offering Chief of Service Rounds, a workshop, and student project presentations.

The New York Academy of Medicine joins the Department of Pediatrics in presenting the 6th Annual "Steven Z. Stern, MD, PhD, Professor of Medicine and Medical Education at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, who will present "Sustaining a Lifetime of Professionalism: Stories of Struggle and Success."

Prior to the lecture will be a workshop entitled, "You Who Are on the Road, Must Have a Code: The Development of Core Professional Values," which will be followed with project presentations by the inaugural 2009 Steve Miller Fellowship Awardees and a luncheon.

About Steven Z. Miller, MD

The Steven Z. Miller Medical Education Day is dedicated to promoting medical education and humanism in medicine in memory of Steven Z. Miller, MD who was, and remains, an important figure in Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons' medical education program.
