Andree Brown
Ms. Brown is a patient who was undergoing treatment for breast cancer at NewYork-Presbyterian. When approached by news producers, she was initially reluctant to appear in the NY Med series, but then changed her mind. "If I can make a difference here, it's totally worth it", she said. watch videos

Rhonda Fernandes
Ms. Fernandes underwent "awake" brain surgery at NYP. She had a brain tumor in an area of the brain that coordinates motor function and language. Surgeons needed to interact with her during the operation to ensure that their work was not impairing any of her brain function. watch videos

Jack Abramson
Mr. Abramson had mitral valve prolapse, a heart condition where a valve in the left side of his heart wouldn't close properly. The condition made it difficult for Mr. Abramson to breathe. He underwent surgery with Dr. Mehmet Oz, who repaired the valve and returned him to good health. watch videos

Lyndsey McLaughlin
Ms. McLaughlin is a young woman with cystic fibrosis. The disease is damaging her lungs and she wasn't expected to live past the age of 18. But, Lyndsey is a fighter. She's now 26 and has undergone a lung transplant that will, hopefully, help her live a more normal life. watch videos
