Volunteers with Severe PMS Needed

Do you have severe premenstrual mood changes that disrupt your life at home and at work? Symptoms can include anger, depression, tension and mood swings.

If you have these symptoms every month during the week before you get your period you may qualify for a research study testing an investigational drug. Subjects must be between the ages of 18 and 45 years.

We are investigating the role androgen hormones may play in the symptoms of severe PMS.

The study will take place at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center at 525 East 68th Street.

Participation Involves:

  • 7 Office Visits
  • 4 Blood Draws
  • Daily symptom diaries

There is no monetary compensation for participation
Subjects may receive active drug or placebo

Benefits: After completing the 4 month research study, participants will be able to receive 2 months of free treatment with an FDAÐapproved medication for severe PMS, sertraline, (Zoloft).
