Residency Training - Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Selection Process/Application
Selection Process
Trainees interested in joining the NYP Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Training Program must meet the minimum requirements for sub-specialty training, including the completion of one year of internship and either two or three years of general psychiatry residency training. Most residents accepted to the program begin our program at the PGY-IV or PGY-V level of postgraduate training.
The NYP Child & Adolescent Psychiatry program requires a completed application by November 1, 2013 (see below) to be eligible for consideration. International medical graduates are welcome to apply but must provide a copy of their ECFMG certificate in addition to Visa status (we are unable to support H-1 visas) along with the other application requirements. The program director, associate program directors, and program administrators review each application in its entirety. Decisions for interviews are based on that review and availability so timely submission of application materials is encouraged.
Interviews for selected applicants are conducted from September to December.
